Studies of low latitude whistlers and VLF emissions

We have been studying low latitude whistlers and VLF emissions and their applications at this Centre since the year 1974. The detailed experimental setup includes a crossed –loop antenna of 144 meter square size installed at roof of our double story building along with vertical and horizontal antenna. The induced voltages in these antennas are fed into a pre-amplifier (gain = 40 dB) and then to the sound card through a main amplifier to be recorded on the hard disk of a PC. The observations are taken during night time only. The recorded data are analyzed using MATLAB software.
